Keep the detail beside the story.

A second angle can show a product close-up while the main view explains the action. Remixure lets each scene use one private video inset alongside its background footage, images or wording. Choose a useful moment and place it where the audience can read both views.

Add the footage, then choose it.

  1. Select the scene and open Picture in picture.
  2. If the clip is new, choose Upload through media library, add it to the private workspace, and use Return to picture in picture. Uploading leaves the current video unchanged.
  3. Confirm permission to use the footage in this video, then select Inset footage. A clip shorter than the scene initially appears for only the time its source can cover.
  4. Set the fit, box position and source start. Choose when the inset appears and disappears within this scene.
  5. Play the preview, save a version, export, and watch the completed MP4 before approving or sharing it.

Use H.264 MP4 footage of up to 6 MB and two minutes, at most 1080p and 60 fps. The same private file can serve as background footage or an inset in several scenes without another upload. Give files useful names in the media library so the next angle is easy to find.

Fit the box around the subject.

Contain shows the whole clip with black space where its shape differs from the box. Cover fills the box with a crop. Horizontal and vertical inset focus choose which edge to keep when the clip is cropped, or where contained footage sits in the spare space. Check faces, small print and the part of the demonstration that matters before choosing a crop.

In Inset orientation and focus, choose a quarter-turn rotation, mirror left to right or flip top to bottom. Rotation happens first; focus follows the final picture. Restore inset framing returns orientation and focus to their defaults while keeping the fit, box and timing. Follow the rotation and flipping guide for a complete check.

Set the left and top edges, width and height as whole percentages of the video frame. The box must stay inside the frame, at least 10% wide and 5% high. Top-right and bottom-right placement buttons provide a starting point. Your source file stays unchanged.

The inset appears above scene wording and graphics. Timed captions appear above the inset. Position each layer so labels, narration captions and important action remain readable; the app does not infer a safe place for your content.

Move and resize the inset in one reviewed edit.

  1. Pause the preview on a moment when the inset is visible in the selected scene. Select Edit inset layout under Picture in picture. The frame and autosave pause; this scene is shown alone without a transition while you review its layout.
  2. In Move mode, drag the outlined box. In Resize mode, drag its corner handle from the current top-left. Focus either handle and use arrow keys for 1% position or size steps. Whole percentages stay inside the full frame, at least 10% wide and 5% high.
  3. Review Left, Top, Width and Height beside their original values. Discard inset layout leaves the video unchanged. Apply inset layout changes only those four values in one edit; one Undo restores the earlier box.
  4. Resizing is freeform. Contain or Cover, orientation, focus, source start, visibility times, graphics, captions and soundtrack retain their settings. If the video changes during review, discard the stale proposal and reopen the current inset.
  5. Preview the actual entry and disappearance, check caption readability, then Save video for a new version. Autosave stays off. A hidden or still-playing inset must be paused on a visible frame before starting; the editor does not change source timing to reveal it.

Numeric position/size fields and placement presets remain available outside review. Cancelling an unfinished pointer gesture restores its starting proposal. This workflow keeps one silent inset per scene; it does not create keyframes or additional footage layers.

Choose two times separately.

Inset source starts at selects a moment in the uploaded file. Inset appears at and Inset disappears at control its visibility in the scene. If it appears at 0.5 seconds and disappears at 2.5 seconds, a source start of 1 second uses source seconds 1 through 3.

Playback begins when the inset appears. It stops when the visible window ends and does not repeat. Times use tenths of a second, with a visible window of at least 0.1 second. The original must contain the entire selected range. To recover from a range that is too long, shorten its visible time or choose an earlier source start.

Splitting or trimming a scene preserves the same visible source moments across the new boundaries. Duplicating the scene repeats its selected moment. Undo restores the previous composition, including an inset removed by an edit.

Keep sound and export limits clear.

Both background footage and inset footage play silently. Add a separate voice recording or reviewed narration and music track when the video needs sound. Adding an inset preserves the existing soundtrack and captions.

A composition with picture in picture can use up to 12 scenes and 60 seconds at 720p, or 30 seconds at 1080p. MP4 exports use 30 fps, with a 12 MB total budget for unique private source media. Larger originals need a prepared short range before they can be used here.

If inset exports are temporarily unavailable, the saved composition remains. Remove the inset and save a new version to export without it, or try again later. This feature composes your footage; it does not generate a talking avatar, remove a background or follow a face automatically.
